Another UNC PE colorway of the Air Jordan 6 has surfaced with this “UNC Champions” colorway seen below. The last time the University of North Carolina was in a National Championship in 2017, they managed to close out Gonzaga to clinch the title. In doing so, the players on that team were gifted a little something extra from Jordan Brand. For their first title while signed to Jordan, UNC was gifted a special edition version of the same model Jordan won his first title in; the Jordan 6s.
Today, English Sole gives us a closer look at 1 of the 3 known versions of the UNC Jordan 6 NCAA Champions PE. The upper comes dressed in a simple white leather, with hits of baby blue on the midsoles. A dark blue lace guard can be found beneath a baby blue tarheel branded lace lock, while the familiar argyle pattern backs a translucent blue tongue. All around the side panels and backs of the shoes, we see puff embroidered numbers highlighting the years in which UNC has won national titles. This specific version was given out to Nike/Jordan Friends and Family only and we know that because the player pairs had gold surrounding the “17” while F&F pairs had gold around “82,” the year Jordan’s team won it all. Translucent blue heel tabs and outsoles round out the exterior of the shoe. Meanwhile a crossed off checklist of the teams UNC beat enroute of the title can be found on one of the insoles, while an additional tarheel logo can be found on the other.
How much would you pay to add a rare pair like this to your collection?
In Jordan Brand news, here’s your reminder that the Air Jordan 5 Jade Horizon releases this weekend.
