Jordan Brand will be dropping a new Chinese New Year (CNY) collection next year that celebrates the “Year of the Tiger”. This time around the 2022 Jordan Brand Chinese New Year collection will include special iterations of the Air Jordan 1 Low OG, Air Jordan 6 Low GS and Jordan Legacy 312.
The Air Jordan 1 Low OG will come equipped with tiger-inspired detailing where calligraphy-style tiger print is spotted on the toe box and side panels while Off-White is spotted on the leather overlays Other details include the Black satin lining, tiger head logo on the heels, a White midsole and Yellowed translucent outsole housing a large Wings logo underneath. It also appears that this will be a limited drop with only 5,000 pairs available, each individually numbered.
As far as the Air Jordan 6 Low and Jordan Legacy 312 goes, both pairs draw inspiration from Ge Kiln porcelain, one of the Five Great Kilns of Chinese ceramics produced during the Song dynasty. The cracking pattern of Ge porcelain inspires the texture used on the Jordan 6 Low’s toe box and underlays.
The Jordan Brand Chinese New Year 2022 Collection will also include matching apparel that includes tees, sweaters, and more featuring a special Jumpman logo placed alongside cloud and bird graphics.
The Jordan Brand Chinese New Year 2022 Collection is set to release on December 30th in the Greater China region followed by a global release in February 2022 at select retailers and Nike.com.
In other news, the Air Jordan 6 Low GS Atmosphere makes its debut in a couple of weeks.
