We already knew that Social Status had confirmed that they would be releasing the Air Jordan 1 Art Basel Pack, but I’m pretty sure the majority of us didn’t think they’d be releasing them on a freakin’ yacht! Although, that wasn’t plan, unforeseen circumstances resulted in switching things up a bit. Let me explain how it all went down.
At first, the Air Jordan 1 Art Basel Pack was supposed to release at the location (address) you see on the hoodie above. Jordan Brand employee Frank Cooker, revealed that the pop-up for Social Status release would be located at 1100 West Ave. and would be open from 12PM EST to 7PM EST on Friday, December 8th. It did not take long for people to take notice of the release location, and as a result, police shut down the first pop-up shop at 1100 West Ave. This resulted in the pop-up shop relocating its release to take place on a yacht at 888 MacArthur Causeway. We’ve seen pictures of the line on social media, and let’s just say there’s many more people waiting in line than there are pairs available. In other words, many of you waiting in line are going to go home empty handed.
Here’s hoping that Jordan Brand gives us a wider release in the near future.
