Jordan Brand is paying homage to Michael Jordan’s partnership with Gatorade from the early 90s, specifically the “Like Mike” commercial that debuted in 1991 and captured a generation, with a handful of releases this month.
First up will be the Air Jordan 6 Like Mike which arrives in color combination of Summit White, Black, and Gatorade Orange and green, in a color blocking inspired by the “Carmine” colorway MJ wore during the commercial. Some of the finer details of this sneaker include a squeeze-bottle-inspired lace lock, sockliner graphic and embroidered “If I Could Be” detailing on the inside tongue complete the tribute.
