Jordan Brand will be releasing a special iteration of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG this holiday season. Currently dubbed the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Sports Illustrated, this new colorway of the Air Jordan 1 pays tribute to Michael Jordan’s first Sports Illustrated cover during his rookie season with the Chicago Bulls. The Sports Illustrated cover, which can be seen below, sees Jordan shooting a jumpshot while wearing a Red Bulls jersey. That being the case, the shoe’s color scheme appears to take inspiration by the Green noted on the “A STAR IS BORN” caption placed on the cover. Although not yet revealed, the shoe is expected to come with a White and Black upper offset by the Green tones on the Swoosh and Wings branding.
