Just unveiled as part of Nike Basketball’s “Art Of A Champion” Collection, we now bring you official images of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High “Pass The Torch” inspired by Kawhi Leonard.
With a lineup characterized by savvy but aging veterans, the Spurs were supposed to be the old men against the Heat’s more youthful, star-powered Big Three in the Finals. In just his third season, unassuming Kawhi Leonard completely changed that narrative in Game 3 with electric and athletic play, dropping 29 points that secured the W. His performance not only gave San Antonio the edge in the series they ultimately won 4-1, but also helped him earn Finals MVP and redirect talk of the Spurs from the proud past to the bright future. The Jordan I “Pass the Torch” honors Kawhi Leonard’s unassuming rise to NBA Finals MVP.
The shoe features a Chrome and White leather upper along with Black detailing on the Swoosh, tongue, laces, ankle, and inner liner. Finishing details include the Jumpan logo on the right tongue, Kawhi’s “Claw” logo on the left tongue and the icy blue translucent outsole, the year “2014” on the lace dubraes, “The NBA Finals” printed on the insoles, and tally marks on the heels and laces that add up to “16” for the 16 wins the Spurs recorded in the playoffs that year, and God laces tips.
