Following its early release in Asia, the Air Jordan 35 “Dynasties” will be dropping stateside this week, according to sources. As suggested, it’s inspired by the Forbidden City, a model of traditional Chinese architecture that is located in the center of Beijing. The Forbidden City’s red walls, pillars and palace gates symbolized good luck and fortune, while the yellow tiled roof reflects imperial power and respect for the emperor. By implementing those elements across the silhouette, it also aims to commemorate the 600th anniversary of the completion of the Forbidden City.
