Today celebrates the 30th anniversary of Michael Jordan’s free throw line dunk that took place during the 1988 NBA Slam Dunk contest. To celebrate the occasion, Jordan Brand will be celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Air Jordan 3 silhouette by releasing a handful of new and old iterations of the model.
One pair set to drop shortly is the Air Jordan 3 White Cement NRG aka Air Jordan 3 Free Throw line. This upcoming release comes in a White Cement color scheme consisting of White, Fire Red, Cement Grey and Black hues. Making the pair stand out is the addition of a translucent sole that features a red stripe to represent the exact place where MJ took flight. Other distinct markings are “3:51” on the back pull tabs as a nod to the time MJ took flight, the “147” on the tongue to reflect MJ’s total score in the final round of the Dunk contest and the insoles equipped with a outsole graphic.
In regards to the release, it is being reported that the Air Jordan 3 White Cement NRG will be releasing on February 14th via Nike SNKRS Draw at 10AM ET / 7AM PT for the retail price of $200.
