As most of you know by now, the Air Jordan 9 Baseball Glove will release in the previously unveiled Black colorway as well as this newly unveiled Brown colorway. Both premium versions of the Air Jordan 9 will release as a nod to the baseball gloves that Michael Jordan wore during his short baseball career. The Black pair came with “45” on the heel, which was Jordan’s number while he played for the Birmingham Barons. But what’s up with the “35” on the heels of these?
Michael Jordan didn’t just play for the Barons. He actually spent some time playing in Scottsdale, Arizona, playing with the Scorpions during the Arizona Fall League (1994). It was during this time that Jordan wore (you guessed it) number 35 on the field. This version mimics the design of the Black pair, meaning that it comes with a premium tumbled leather (Brown) upper equipped with woven detailing on the panels and heel inspired by the look and feel of a baseball glove. More Brown can be found on the lesther laces, lining and pull tabs. Contrast is created by the White noted on the sole unit and branding hits on the heel.
