Are you ready for another Union x Air Jordan 1 High OG collaboration? As all of you know, Union and Jordan Brand linked up back in 2018 to release two of the most popular and recognized Air Jordan 1 collaborations in quite some time. It now appears that a third Union x Air Jordan 1 High OG colorway will be dropping this year. Here is a first look at the Union x Bephies Beauty Supply x Air Jordan 1 High OG Woven.
The two Union x Air Jordan 1 High OG collabs from 2018 got their inspiration from thrifting and the DIY culture. It created a bit of a vintage look that we were not accustomed to seeing, but over time fell in love with. The Union x Air Jordan 1 High OG Woven gets its inspiration from the Nike Air Footscape Woven – a lifestyle running shoe that is known for its asymmetrical lacing system that debuted in the late 2000s. Done in a Sail, Wolf Grey, Muslin, Pale Vanilla, Kinetic Green, and University Gold color scheme, the Union x Air Jordan 1 High OG Woven is done in an OG-styled “Neutral Grey” color blocking constructed in a full leather build and decorated with woven detailing that wraps around the entire shoe. Design details include the White upper and Wolf Grey detailing on areas such as the Swooshes, collars, “Nike Air” tongue tags, the larger Wings branding on the lateral ankle. Also worth pointing out is the exposed Green stitching in the rear that includes the “BBS” embroidered on the heels nodding Union founder Chris Gibbs’ wife Beth and her Bephie’s Beauty Supply brand. A closer look unveils the Green insoles, Union’s “UN/LA” signature tag on the lateral and a two-tone aged-like rubber sole.
Union LA and BBS have confirmed that the Union x Bephies Beauty Supply x Air Jordan 1 High OG Woven will be releasing on August 24th at select Jordan Brand retailers and store.unionlosangeles.com for the retail price of $200. The Union x Bephies Beauty Supply x Air Jordan 1 High OG Woven alongside the Union x Bephies Beauty Supply x Air Jordan 1 Elevate High will be releasing on the same day to form what is being known as the Air Jordan 1 “Summer of ’96” Pack. This capsule collection pays homage to the summer Beth and Chris met. Inspired by their love, the power couple realize that summer was not only the foundation of their relationship, but also the precursor to the lifestyle movement we now call “streetwear”.
