Following its exclusive release in China, the Air Jordan 7 GC “China” aka “Chile Red,” is now confirmed for its debut stateside in September. While its original theme is reflective of an homage to China vis distinct Chinese Kanji motifs and artwork, the Swoosh has also pointed out that this rendition commemorates both MJ’s second gold medal and the balance he achieved between grace and strength in his game.
Colorful cloud graphics are prominent on the shoe’s medial side, while a closer look at the lateral side reveals a tonal graphic that covers the shoe’s black-and-white paneling. Additionally, characters on the tongue reflect MJ’s name and number, while the badge on the heel is a nod to the number nine which MJ wore with The Dream Team. Finally, glow-in-the-dark elements on the outsole top off its design.
